Smile Makeovers

A smile makeover is a coordinated plan for the changes that matter to you, rather than one procedure. It may combine selected approaches to color, shape or alignment after the health of teeth and gums is assessed.

Explore your options with our Atlas Dental team. Ask who would provide your treatment and whether a specialist referral is needed.

Discussing a smile plan

A digital dental model helps the dentist and patient discuss proposed changes before choosing treatments.

A digital model supports planning. It does not guarantee a result or mean that every suggested change is necessary.

Understanding your care

Start with what you want to change

Start with the purpose of treatment, then explore what matters for your own care.

01

Your priorities

A useful plan names the concern in your own terms: a particular edge, a shade difference or the position of a tooth. Healthy natural variation does not need automatic correction.

02

Health before appearance

The examination identifies dental problems that should be addressed before cosmetic changes. Gum health, tooth structure and bite all influence which options are reasonable for your smile.

03

A coordinated sequence

When more than one approach is considered, order matters. The discussion should explain which decisions affect later steps and where you can pause to review the direction.

From questions to a plan

What care can involve.

The details and sequence depend on your assessment and individual treatment plan.

01

Name the goals

Discuss what you like and what you want to change. Use photographs or records to focus the conversation without assuming a standard ideal smile.

02

Compare appropriate options

Review tooth and gum health, then compare reasonable routes for each concern. Discuss irreversible changes, alternatives, maintenance and the possibility of doing less.

03

Preview the plan

Where useful, review a mockup or design before committing to treatment. A preview communicates direction and proportions; it cannot guarantee the final biological result.

04

Review in stages

Complete the agreed plan in an appropriate sequence, with opportunities to assess changes. Continue routine dental review and any maintenance required by the chosen treatments.

Before you decide

A plan that makes
sense for you.

The risks and upkeep depend on the procedures selected. A combination can involve permanent tooth changes, sensitivity, future repairs or retention after orthodontics. A visual preview is a planning aid, not a guarantee. Ask which parts are necessary for health, which are optional, and whether a smaller change or no cosmetic treatment would meet your priorities.

Does a makeover always mean veneers?

No. The term describes a plan, not a particular restoration. Some people may consider whitening or orthodontics, while others explore small bonding changes or choose to keep their natural smile.

Can I review the design first?

A plan can use photographs, models or a mockup to communicate proposed changes where appropriate. These tools help discussion, but they do not guarantee a specific appearance or treatment response.

Do I have to do everything together?

That depends on how the treatments relate. Some choices affect the order of later work, but the plan should identify stages, decision points and which proposed changes are optional.
